Project Manager

What I do at Verdantas

As a project manager and client manager I am responsible to ensure the product that we are producing is consistent, accurate, on time and informative for our clients. Internally I work with our interdisciplinary teams to make our client's vision a reality. Our goal with every client is to build a strong trusting relationship for continued repeating work.

Why Verdantas

The day that I was offered a position at Borton-Lawson I was told "Borton-Lawson hires families and not employees." I did not understand that statement at the time when it was uttered to me. The name on the building may have changed but that mentality was instilled in the former Borton-Lawson employees and spreading to the rest of Verdantas. We all work very hard, but also care deeply about what our co-workers are going through personally. I have witnessed multiple occurrences where the company has rallied behind employee's personal challenges to help them overcome their hurdles. Internal meetings start out with "how are you doing?" Instead of jumping right into the workload discussion. I think all of these examples speak volumes for the type of company that Verdantas is.

Who am I?

I graduated from Wilkes University in 2017 in bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I started off my career as an intern at Borton-Lawson Engineering and transitioned to full-time employee upon graduation. I was with Borton-Lawson engineering until the company was acquired by Verdantas. Through my years of experience I have worked on a large variety of projects including commissioning, glass furnace design, substations, industrial plants (building products), and preventative maintenance projects. Through the vast experience I have gathered I have worked myself from an intern to a project manager and supervisor for the mechanical group.

Advice for prospective candidates

Verdantas is looking for well rounded individuals to join our successful team. Each position that is open has different top characteristics that the successful candidate will be chosen off of, but in my opinion we cannot teach drive. Being someone who take something and make it a success is very important. You will not be out on an island but limiting the questions to a realistic amount to fit the communication plan reduces pinch points on our teams. With our hybrid work environment strong communication is important to ensure that duplicated efforts or opposite directions are not occurring on projects. Lastly but not least, being humble/easy to work with is extremely important. We work with many different personalities, so being able to adapt and get along with those personalities is extremely important. Are you hungry, humble or knowledgeable? I cannot wait to meet with you and discuss your background and what you believe that you could add to the team.
